The “Unity” project is the main direction of activity of our organisation on which all our efforts are focused. The main task which we set for ourselves through programs and events realized within the framework of the project is the achievement of unity of the Ukrainian people at least at the level of perception. It is in the childhood, at a stage of forming of the personality when a person acquires a huge amount of information based on which in the future he or she builds his or her own system of values, appraisals, priorities. We set before ourselves the task to prevent from initiation and strengthening in the heads of little Ukrainians the hostility to each other.

The project is realized on the basis of the children’s health improving complex “Emerald” located in the vast picturesque territory in the pollution-free area. The main feature of the “Unity” project is the integrated groups where children from all the regions of Ukraine, including the conflict ones, and also children of the ATO soldiers are brought together. The world practice shows that the processes of re-adaptation and re-socialization in such conditions are more effective.

The favorable atmosphere is provided with the comfortable conditions of accommodation meeting all modern requirements. In a big and united family of «Emerald» the idea of unity of all population of the country – regardless of geographical, economic, political, social, religious etc. criteria is cultivated.

Children are in the integrated, mixed groups where in one group representatives of the most different regions of Ukraine are brought together. Children-migrants do not feel isolated and detached because here all are equal. Communication, studies and relaxation in a circle of peers show in the most evident way the absence of any fundamental differences between people from diverse parts of the country.

A successful experience of the team activity gives a person the self-confidence and demonstrates the benefits of grouping for achievement of certain purposes and results. Symbolical unification of people from different regions for the common welfare is subconsciously accepted and experienced.

In the course of studies children will get acquainted with the Ukrainian culture, customs, crafts, history. Within the framework of the “Unity” project on the basis of the “Emerald” complex thematic master classes, interactive lectures, representations, amateur’s parties, excursions are planned. Children will visit the National dendrology park «Sofiyevka» in Uman’ – a masterpiece of the landscape art.

A set of the techniques directed to both identification of problems and their correction is applied for more individual social and psychological work with children. However, it will not cause our wards any internal discomfort because all such work is carried out in an exciting form:

• team games and relays;
• interactive lectures;
• creative work;
• knowledge-based contests.

The majority of the offered types of activity require a team work in the course of which our experts can reveal the strategies used by our pupils for social interaction. Also we apply in an appropriate form the team building technologies.

Merry games in the open air, interesting acquaintances and communication without borders will help forget about horrors of the war and begin a new life.

A group of experts of the Institute of sociology of the National academy of Sciences of Ukraine has already joined the “Unity” project. Also we plan to invite other professionals, volunteers, philanthropists and in general all those who have the desire to help with restoration of our country and its people. The financial aid to the project has already been provided by UNICEF and the Red Cross, private funds are actively involved.

Also the project prospects actions and events outside the “Emerald” complex, in some cities. It is mainly educational and integration activity.
